It's easy to get so bogged down in your day-to-day work that you forget to keep up your company's website and social media -- especially if you're team doesn't have a designated marketer. If you're personal or professional web presence could use a little refresh, we've put together a few tips to get you lookin' good in no time!
- Delete any unused social media accounts. That Pinterest account you started but never worked out? Time to deal with it. Anything you don't foresee using, deleting the accounts might be the best option. On the other hand, sometimes it can be helpful to not delete accounts (for the sake of being able to claim your company's username), but if that's the case, you need to figure out exactly what you're going to do with it. At the very least, your accounts should include a bit of company information and a link directing viewers to your website.
- Update your profile photos and cover photos. Graphic design trends are constantly changing, which means your company's marketing graphics should be, too. Rarely will you find a successful company that keeps the same profile and cover photos for more than 1-3 months; updates are just another part of the marketing process. This spring, consider a new graphics campaign that plays off of the 2015 design trends and that will catch the attention of new potential clients. Your possibilities are endless!
- Update your website and web profiles. Go through your online accounts and take a look at what they say about your company. Is it time for a new "about me?" There's no doubt that your company has changed and grown over the past year or so, which means your accounts should reflect that. Even if your company description is still accurate, it might be helpful to play around with the language of it: add some new descriptors that will amp up the page and that will pique the interest of new clients.
- Consider new social media platforms. Has your marketing strategy plateaued? It might be time to consider a revamp. Tools like Search Engine Optimization are constantly changing and new social sharing outlets are continuously opening, so there's always something new to try. Whether it's Twitter, Stumbleupon, or Google+, take the plunge and try something new. If your company focuses on B2C marketing, go where the customers go and be an early adopter of new media. If you're interested in starting a blog for your firm, you should check out our post all about how having a blog can help you reach new clients!
- Add any new testimonials to your site. The cool thing about the Internet is that the content on it changes at such a rapid pace, which means your company's website is never done growing. Whether you add a few new testimonials, update the page about your employees, or opt for a complete redesign, it's important that you give your website a little love. Your website is your brand; it's the first place customers or clients go to learn about you, so make sure it represents you well!
