Big Bucks Over a Duck!

Based on the recent developments from Portland, OR; a woman is suing the owner of a duck for a huge sum, all for it's agitated actions. The woman alleges to have been repeatedly attacked by the said duck. Further on the bird's strike, she mentioned that it took place on May 7, 2012 when she was stepping out of her residence. This is when the duck in question attacked her, causing her to fall. This resulted in a fractured right wrist, a sprained elbow and shoulder which led to a $25,000 worth of medical expenses.

This case also alleges that the bird's owner was aware of the animal's aggressive behavior. However, the owner failed to take any necessary measures to prevent such onslaughts. This also brings in a strict-liability claim, which suggests that this hostile duck has allegedly attacked people previously as well.

It's here worth mentioning that there was in fact a Federal Insurance Billing Code issued for 'duck bites' viz. W6161X. And believe it or not, there are several codes out there for rarest of the rare injuries. So much for a not-so-timid waterfowl!
