Welcome to foggy San Francisco! As you're racing from session to session at LegalTech West Coast, don't forget to venture outside and experience everything our city by the Bay has to offer. If you're a foodie, look no further: the MerusCase team has compiled a list of must-try local restaurants (and yes, they're all within walking distance)!
1. Blue Bottle Coffee, 1 Ferry Building, Suite 7
San Francisco locals are often heard engaging in the Blue Bottle versus Philz Coffee debate; and for good reason! Both Philz and Blue Bottle boast flavorful coffee concoctions that you'll dream about well after your trip. With Blue Bottle just blocks from the convention center, you can start your day with the New Orleans Iced Coffee. Finally, do not, under any circumstances, underestimate the Blue Bottle waffle -- once you try it, you'll definitely be back for more.2. Blue Hawaii Acai Cafe, 2 Embarcadero Center
If you're craving something healthy, head over to Blue Hawaii to get a taste of the big island. Their most popular items are the acai and poke bowls. Acai bowls (pronounced ah-say-EE) consist of a layer of acai, topped with a variety of fresh fruits and granola. The poke bowls are only served after 11am and offer fresh ahi tuna over a bed of rice. Moral of the story: you can't go wrong with either choice.3. Hog Island Oyster Co., 1 Ferry Building, Shop 11
Now, everyone knows that you can't come to San Francisco without tasting some seafood andHog Island is home of mouth-watering oysters! If you 're unsure of which oysters to try, the knowledgeable waiters will gladly fill you in. Don't forget to try out the infamous clam chowder (they use real, whole clams) and don't be deterred by the long line, it's completely worth the wait. What could be better than fresh oysters and a cold beer overlooking the gorgeous sunset and Bay Bridge?4. Wayfare Tavern, 558 Sacramento St.
Although a bit on the higher end of the price scale, Wayfare Tavern and celebrity chef Tyler Florence are worth the hype. With mouthwatering dishes like fried chicken, popovers and mac and cheese, you'll want to grab a few LegalTech West friends and order a few dishes for the table to share. The environment is upscale yet casual -- perfect after a long day at the conference.5. Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream, 1 Ferry Building
I don't know about you, but I always save a special part of my stomach for dessert (especially ice cream). All of the flavors at Humpry Slocombe are unique and made with 100% organic ingredients. Best of all, the staff is super friendly and will let you try out as many flavors as you want, which is helpful considering that the flavors change daily and there's always something different to try. My personal favorites are the Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee and Secret Breakfast with Bourbon and Corn Flakes.Do you have any special plans for your time at LegalTech West?
