1. Change your swipe options
As you're scrolling through your unread messages from your iPhone, wouldn't it be helpful if you could just handle some of them without needed to open them? Well, you can! This setting is particularly useful if you get a lot of spam that needs to be deleted
By heading to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Swipe Options, you can choose what happens to a message when you swipe it right or left. The option you'll have to choose from are: Flag, Mark as Read, Archive, or None.
2. Set different signatures for different email accounts
If your iPhone houses your personal email account, your work email account, and maybe even a 3rd extraneous account, chances are you'll want to have different email signatures for each of these accounts. (Unless, of course, you want everyone to be jealous of the awesome company you work at every time you send an email.)
In order to update these signatures, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Signature. From here, you can choose whether you want to customize your signature for "All Accounts" or "Per Account." Go wild!
3. Time Zone Override
If you often find yourself collaborating with people in different time zones, this setting is for you!
If you choose to enable time zone override, any date and time that is sent to you will be automatically change to appear as your designated time zone. In order to do this, hop over to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Override and, from here, you can (1) toggle the feature on and off and (2) select a default time zone.
Again, if you're syncing multiple email accounts through your iPhone, you'll find this feature to be extremely helpful! In order to set your default account, navigate to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Default Account. You'll see all of your connected email addresses listed out -- all you have to do is select the address that you want to be your default "From:" address!
5. Change the way Contact names are shown
Everyone has a different naming convention for their contacts. Some people (like myself) are very particular about having to include first and last name, no fluff added. On the other hand, there are those of us who like to include a string of emojis after each contacts' name. Regardless, it's nice to know that the iPhone gives you options!
From the Short Name section, which can be found by accessing Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Short Name, you're able to choose how your contacts will appear within your phone. Your options include First Name & Last Initial, First Initial & Last Name, First Name Only, Last Name Only, and you can even use Nicknames, if you prefer!
And that's it: 5 super easy settings that you can change in order to make your iPhone email experience more enjoyable.
P.S. If you've yet to sync your email address with MerusCase, what are you waiting for?
