No one can deny the large amount of important work lawyers of all sorts do every day, or the impact it has on their clients and on the world around them. Sometimes, however, you need to take a few moments away from that work to use what you know to a different end, such as James Daily and Ryan Davidson have done. They blog about the hypothetical legal scenarios arising from the actions and events in comic books at their blog, Law and the Multiverse.
Their most recent post examines She-Hulk #2, where Jennifer Walters, She-Hulk, leaves her position at the law firm Paine & Luckberg to start her own legal practice. Walters begins to contact former clients to try and drum up business, which is when Law and the Multiverse asks is it legal to poach clients from a former employer?
The short answer, of course, is yes. I won't, however, get into the details of their answer, it's far better to get that straight from the source. And, when you click through, you can read about some of the legal concerns arising from the Flash rebuilding and apartment building after a fire, or of Lois Lane's employment contract with The Daily Planet.
Another noteworthy fact: the most recent run of She-Hulk is written by a practicing attorney.
